Social Media Triangulation
The Power-of-4

Creating synergy with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube can help you build powerful and targeted networks.

Hi Ho and welcome,

Just a short note on how you can use Social Media Triangulation to create powerful and comprehensive networks, particularly for business.

Why build Powerful Social Media Networks?

Good Question.

In today’s economic environment, whether you are a professional, a business owner, an entrepreneur, an entertainer or wanting to build your future career, or, on the other hand, you want to promote a not for profit organisation, a charity, a special interest group or some other worthwhile cause or purpose, then Social Media provides a no cost way of achieving that.

Also, the New Global Economy has seen some big names in commerce, industry and the financial sectors disappear, to the despair of their creditors and the detriment of the wider community.

This has, in turn, created some caution, if not cynicism toward internet based businesses, where their monetisation has yet to be tested or proved, particularly, when reflecting of the bursting of the Dot-Com-Bubble back in 2001.

So, building separate networks, acts as a back-up system. Thus, should one or more of these popular networks founder and disappear, and your network with it, you will still have one or more of the other platforms as a fall back with those networks intact.

How come Social Media Triangulation is the Power-of-4?

I know, I know. It sounds like an oxymoron doesn’t it?

The triangulation I’m talking about here is not two dimensional; in fact it’s three dimensional. That is, it’s a tetrahedron or a triangular pyramid.

   The Tetrahedron of
   Social Media Networking

And this has become the network building model I have developed for my own business and is the model I am now assisting other businesses with for their online network building strategies.

Common Sense and Strategy

I assessed each of the four dominant and fastest growing social media networks, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube and made a simple common sense list of the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

Once I reviewed the strengths and weaknesses of each network, it occurred to me how to develop a simple yet powerful strategy to increase the capabilities and potential of my own network and hence other people’s networks as well.

Many are now using this concept. Are you?

Dynamic Public Relations Tool

I realised that by combining these four networks, anyone could develop a synergy that built on the strengths of each network individually. Collectively, these four social media networks provide powerful, comprehensive and dynamic Public Relations and promotional tools.

In the initial stages of my testing I didn’t utilize YouTube and have only added it recently to my Social Media mix. Social Media Marketing – an alternative strategy in tough times

Build Your Own Powerful Network

If you want to build a significant and effective network for yourself, then join me at these four Social Media Networks to reap the benefits each one provides.

1) FACEBOOK

At Facebook, you have the advantages of its multimedia options, in that, you can utilise text, photographs and video. This becomes an effective medium for text and graphical promotional activities.

You can also create separate pages for Business, Organisations or for your “Fans”.

Build your network at Facebook and become my Friend there as well. Click here for my Facebook page.

2) LINKEDIN

At LinkedIn, you have the world’s largest professional network, which is essentially an online resume.

This provides you with a professional hub where people can check your own credibility and experience and you can also check theirs. Importantly, you can link in to a wide variety of special interest groups within LinkedIn.

Build your professional network at LinkedIn and connect with me there. Click here for my LinkedIn page.

3) TWITTER

At Twitter, the micro blogging network you can, quickly get messages out via the web, PDA or cell/mobile phones, as well as keep up to date with up-to-the-minute news and information.

Twitter is also a place to find out what others may be saying about your business, or check out what ideas and concepts are trending. All of this is in real time.

You can also, in particular, accelerate your network growth dramatically faster with Twitter which is not possible with the other above mentioned networks.

When I got serious with twitter I realised it’s potential in building not only a large Twitter Network but also inviting Twitter followers to send me invitations tom Facebook and LinkedIn. This is how I have developed growing networks at these platforms as well.

To build you network quickly, follow me at Twitter (if you’re not already doing so). Click here for my Twitter page.

4) YOUTUBE

YouTube, as you are no doubt aware, is a video sharing website on which users can upload, share and view videos.

Unregistered users can watch the videos, while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos. There is no cost for this, as with the membership of the other social networks mentioned above.

By way of an example of a YouTube usage for my business, Steve Crossman, of the Social Media Channel recently interviewed me for B2BNetworking.com.au. discussing opportunities for expanding your business through networking both online and offline.

Here’s the video...

You too can gain some traction, and publicity using the YouTube medium.

Check out YouTube and start thinking how you can take advantage of the free video hosting service and how you can promote yourself, your business, brand, product, service or all of the above.

Well, that’s it for now.

I look forward to getting to know you on these online social networks and maybe we’ll meet in person somewhere, sometime.

Best Regards,
